How Much Does A Farm Shed Cost Per Square Metre?
A general farm storage shed is usually around $150 and $200 per square metre while more complex or involved projects such as grain sheds or shearing sheds can range between $250 and $550 per square metre.

Three-Sided Hay Shed Cost Per Square Metre (and per bale)
A new hay shed build is between $160 and $200 per square metre and in terms of cost-per-bale, this can range from $65 to $120 per bale.

- A 32m x 15m x 6m hay shed stores around 1,008 bales and costs approx. $160 to $210 per square metre or $90 to $120 per bale.
- A 48m x 24m x 7.5m hay shed stores around 2,730 bales and costs approx. $155 to $185 per square metre or $65 to $75 per bale.
- A 64m x 24m x 7.5m hay shed stores around 3,640 bales and costs approx. $150 to $175 per square metre or $65 to $75 per bale.

Concrete Panel Grain Shed Cost Per Square Metre (and per tonne)
A new concrete panel grain shed can cost between $360 and $550 per square metre depending on the size and configuration of the shed.
In terms of $ per tonne, this can range from $85/tonne to $190/tonne. This is mostly influenced by the size of the shed as, typically, the bigger the shed the more cost-effective it is per tonne. You can see this reflected in the examples below.
Concrete panels installed to segregate different grains can also influence the cost-per-tonne as they reduce the overall capacity and increase the price of the shed.

- An 80m x 30m grain shed stores 10,000 tonnes and costs approx. $85 to $115 per tonne
Concrete Panel Fertiliser Shed Cost Per Square Metre (and per tonne)
A fertiliser shed with concrete panels can cost between $380 and $750 per square metre or around $160 to $450 per tonne.
The configuration (i.e. whether you are loading from the gable ends or the side) and if concrete panels are installed for segregation can influence the cost-per-tonne.
